The Wine Cave:
This approximately 800 bottle space has a special cooling system to modulate the actual temperature of the contents of the bottles. The wine cave has room for a tasting table, and provides drawers for those special entries in your collection. The Living and Dining Rooms:
Had we proceeded to the left upon entering The Rotunda, we would have passed into the living room, a grand salon with built-in pieces of furniture. There are at least two themes to this room: the stunning views framed by a Dressel signature coved window, and the massive fireplace with its Pakistani marble surround, flanked by built-in cabinetry.
Mountain, lake and golf course views and light infuse this room. You also have a wonderful overlook of the pool patio. The Entertaining Cabana, known as the Living Portal, is just beyond a twin set of double doors.
The Dining Room:This would have been our goal had we proceeded strait on after entering The Rotunda. It has warm Eastern Pine antiqued floors, a raised Kiva fireplace, and exquisite views. It is located conveniently to the kitchen and butler's pantry areas, but is quite private and intimate. The Master Suite/Library:
With two separate entrances, the Master Suite, is truly that: a set of rooms to delight the owners. One passage way to the master passes by the Library. This room is large, well lit, and has a fireplace and Eastern views. The walls are lined with 24 shelves, with 12 cabinets beneath. There is a built in desk, too. The room has been wired for floor outlets and media access. The cabinetry is extensively and tastefully hand carved by Frank Baker and matches the Eastern antiqued pine floors.
This room may be accessed by the public, but it is carefully tucked away to provide privacy. Beside the library is one of the two powder rooms in the home.
The bed-sitting room itself has a private patio, and two private terraces and fireplace, extensive media cabinet, moss rock fireplace, and a banco lined sitting/reading area. Spaces are grand and yet this is obviously a very private space.
The master closet is a work of art, with high ceilings, excellent natural light, a Camargue Limestone bench, full length mirror, center island alder cabinets, and room to spare. There are approximately 45 feet of hanging rods, 32 various drawers, 12 glass fronted cabinets and 31 shelves, plus a marble folding surface.
The Master Bath is a place of wonder, as it has a double person steam shower and then a separate multi-headed shower grotto, heated towel rack, plus a jetted tub with-a-view that is the height of luxury. The floors, showers and banco seats are all of Camargue limestone from France.
There are separate his and hers water closets, one with bidet, one with urinal. Dressing space is extensive and there are twin vanities, all with built-in cabinets, custom lighting, and many thoughtful touches. Full access to the pool is also provided from the master suite and here you also have a second washer and dryer and a safe. You also have quick access to you private covered, fireplace equipped, terraces and the spa.
